So I'm officially a fan of sub-compact Glocks now; They are so comfortable that sometimes I forget I'm carrying them (not really) and I can easily get in and out of my vehicle without breaking my junk or guts. Checkable The pistol is mostly comfortable to hold, which is surprising given its small size and short barrel. I was able to shoot relatively well with almost occasional effort. It does a good job of what it is, and it's a small, highly concealable pistol that effectively engages targets at close range.

My primary complaint is that without the pinky grip mag extension, the pistol grip is comical and pretty ineffective as a practical weapon; Yeah sure, you can make it work, John Wick kills a dude with a pencil, but is that appropriate? no. Only contains one magazine with a Glock extension, what?! I went out and bought a Pierce grip mag extension for the second magazine, which gives me a plus 2 round count in the poor-ass 9 bullet standard capacity, and now I'm happy with my setup. The pistol's short grip makes it difficult to change magazines with speed and efficiency. However, fluency follows with some practice.

Shooting the G27 was an enjoyable experience when it was faultless. OK, so it's about as defective as four shots out of 300 rounds, but that's still a lot compared to what I'd normally expect from a pistol. I will say that in my personal experience the .40S&W has never been pleasant during three one-handed shootings; The latter was during standard two-handed shooting but towards the end of my time at the range, so maybe my little birdie wrists were weakening and limping from the higher caliber rounds, who knows? For all the shooting I did with the pistol I was using a Salier and Bellot 180gr FMJ, which I had a lot of experience with in the past. Other than that, the G27 is shooting great! Acceptable groups at different distances, my best mind is not you, but anyway the man's minute. The standard OEM sights are fine for target acquisition, but I'm still planning on swapping them out for some tritium sights. I would definitely recommend this pistol for everyday carry, especially in summer or hot weather when applying light clothing. I think I will definitely change the gun to 9mm with the conversion barrel; .40S&W, 9mm conversion kits are readily available.

Glock G 44 - While the .22 LR is certainly not new to the handgun market, it is for Glock. When the Model 44 debuted in 2019, the market exploded as it marked the brand's debut into the shooting world. Today, in this Glock 44 review, we take a look at the company's first .22 LR to offer to the public.

The G44 is a Glock made in the USA. Glock planned for a 2019 release to make sure it would be on display at the January 2020 Shot Show — and it was. As Glock reached new heights, consumers and industry leaders alike wanted to know. Companies have made .22 LR conversion kits for Glocks in the past, but the fact that Glock only makes handguns for shooting has put some people off their guard. Given the current state of handgun availability, the release of the .22 LR rifle was a smart move in retrospect.

Glock chose to use the common and easy to use Glock 19 frame for the G44. The compact frame size makes it easy to use, and the low-caliber G44 is ideal for beginner shooters. It's clear that Glock wants the G44 to be the gateway gun for people new to handguns.

Not only is the G44 a great entry-level model, but it also offers experienced shooters the ability to practice at a very affordable price. The use of a standard G19 frame and magazine means shooters can run the same holster and magazine carriers for both platforms. One of the main differences with the G44 is the use of a polymer/metal composite slide. This slide allows for the necessary rotation while maintaining strength.

While Glock prides itself on providing "perfection" in its products, the G44 has seen its fair share of complaints regarding construction and reliability. The ignition options in particular are prone to problems, and while I didn't have any issues with the G44 I tested, you should be aware that there are those who say they have.

Within the first 10 seconds of holding the Glock 44, I wasn't a big fan of the scope and look. That confidence in the hands was just not there - it reminded me of an airsoft or BB model. The aesthetics are all right and very similar to the Gen-5 Glock 19, only the weight and design of the slide made me want the orange muzzle. If you are new to shooting, this may not be a problem for you. I'm used to the heavy hand feel of the 9mm Glock 19.

I took the G44 out to the range recently and was able to feed it with a variety of rifles.

All 22 long shots were cycled after I finished feeding the first round. The real problem was in the room in the first round. Several times the first channel was forced out of the alimentary canal and crushed against the top of the pit. Although the alimentary canal was not particularly clean, it was not dirty. This may not bother or surprise some, since it's on fire, but it's something to be aware of.

Shooting a Glock 44 is more like shooting a BB gun than a 19. Recycling is very simple. I had no problem providing the following images. I'll touch on this a bit later, but the trigger looks awful - even for a stock Glock.

Problems aside, the Glock 44 was fun to shoot. I found that I quickly read the paper with a good arrow. The low-key feel and ease of shooting will keep you moving. The ability to train with the G44 was obvious - it's not the same as shooting a 9mm (which can easily be 5x as expensive to shoot in market conditions), but the G44 still allows for live fire training.

My experience with the trigger on the G44 was good, but not what I expected. The trigger felt more "squishy" than a typical Glock trigger. Aside from the dingy feeling in the glass, it made sense to clean and remodel the rest. This "squishy" feeling in the line seemed to make the puller feel really heavy.

Testing the trigger pull The average pull weight on the G44 used for this review was 6.2 pounds.

Glock used the standard trigger safety for the G44 here - it works fine in my opinion. This safety is a simple two-part system - the trigger to protect the blade and the trigger itself. Both the safety blade and the trigger must be pressed together to fire.

As with other standard Glocks, the G44 comes from the factory with an adjustable rear sight and fore sight. The classic Glock "U" shaped rear sight and rear sight are often seen as work. But I don't think I like this combo.

It didn't seem like much of a problem to target with a single stock - but that's not what I wanted to see. I will say that I am not a big fan of the stock sights from Glock. That being said, they don't have much of a problem with the gun ringing.

I used a Labrador doppler to monitor the muzzle velocity seen with the G44. For this test I used a standard round - a CCI Mini-Mag 40 grain. The advertised muzzle velocity from CCI is 1,235 feet per second with an accurate round of the gun. Given the shorter barrel on the G44, I wanted to see what the velocity reduction was.

A test group of five bullets averaged 990 feet per second from the G44. Of course, the Glock 44 can't reach one of the guns. Given the purpose and intent, I sensed the reason for the pace.

Pistol specs aside, the Glock 44 seemed to be the easiest of the guns to shoot accurately. I really enjoyed the high speed shots, yes. Overall, it's an easy gun to shoot well in my experience.

The G44 is almost invulnerable, so it's easy to fast track. The changes to the acquisition target and training are like a real upgrade to the G44. The velocity and density of bullets limits other weapons in quality - at least beyond 50 yards. I was able to iron about 80 yards, but it wasn't always something I could do.

I am writing this review in the midst of a 2020 bullet shortage. So, the G44 seems to have entered the market at the right time. That's why many shooters already carry and train with a Glock 19 - the same frame size but chambered in 22 LR makes sense. The value of training with the G44 seems to be there and I'm sure many will take advantage of it.

This gun is still new and I'd like to see how it holds up over time before investing in another one. If any quality complaints are confirmed, I'm sure Glock will address them in a separate update. The plastic feel and look of the slide made me a bit nervous - even with the famous Glock pattern.

I would say the G44 is a very fun gun to shoot based on my experience. It's definitely worth a try to buy one of these affordable bargains at Target.

Well made holster with a sturdy clip. There are no rough edges and excellent maintenance on the TLR-7Sub. Fast shipping is the icing on the cake!!! TR Holsters are GOOD TO GO!!!

Overall build quality is very good. Just a few notable things to note: 1) I had to reheat the kydex to make clearance for the slide catch (note: I'm using a custom Sig FCU work) 2) There is no audible click for maintenance. I was able to create a retention point to give a tactile click by heating the kydex and creating a pinch point between the light and trigger guard. 3) The included metal belt clip provides good retention but has sharp edges that can damage your belt. I just used a bit of sanding on a dremel to rough up the edges 4) The optical cut seems to be too far back (closer to the front sight) that it shouldn't be a problem if you ran the original Xseries slide with it. front sight removed using the optical plate. I just cut the optical clearance 1/4" closer to the muzzle with a small cut on a dremel.

The overall build quality is good. A few important things to consider: 1) I have to modify the kydex to make room for the slide (note: I'm using a custom Sig FCU). 2) No audible click to hold. By moving the kydex and creating a gap between the light and the keeper, I was able to create an anchor that provided a secure fit. 3) The attached metal cable clip has great grip, but has sharp edges that can damage your cable. I use a small sander and my dremel to break the edges. 4) The optic cut seems to be cut too far back (closest to the back). It is removed from the eye plate. I use a small dremel cutter to cut a 1/4 inch eye hole near the muzzle.

I've recently witnessed many troubleshooting of Glock pistols by some uneducated colleagues of mine, and have seen countless examples of bad advice given by the "internet" about what makes a reliable task. Contrary to popular belief, not every commando is a gunman. A small percentage of commando gun people have professional knowledge of firearms, not just gun enthusiasts. My goal here is to break down the trigger into its individual parts, to understand how tweaking each can change the characteristics of the trigger (and the gun as a whole), and to give people the tools to select safe and reliable combinations of components. that will give the performance they want.

I'll be speaking in terms of the 9/40/.357 small-frame Glock because that's the one I'm most familiar with; and a size most Glock shooters will use. Most also carry 20/21. If you take the .45GAP I'm assuming it doesn't exist so I can't help you but the same guidelines apply. Here is a diagram of a Glock firearm showing the 33 factory parts, I will use the Glock nomenclature to reference this chart from Glock (used with permission) throughout the article for consistency:

Working from the trigger back to the first note item on the trigger bar itself is the vertical lobe above the bar. When the trigger is pressed, this inflated lobe moves backwards, pushing the firing pin safety up. As the firing pin safety increases, it reveals a horizontal slot cut in its profile that aligns with the firing pin chute and allows the firing pin to advance freely into the primary of the round. This interaction is key when executing triggering tasks and will be discussed later. Moving to the end of the trigger bar, we come to the point where it connects to the aptly named connector (#24), trigger spring (#25), and trigger mechanism housing (#23). Glock makes 3 versions of the connector that I recommend for use in duty/defensive weapons. These are the Standard (5.5lb), Minus (4.5lb) and Connector5 (also known as the "Dot" (5lb). Glock makes a pair too rare to even consider, or too heavy on something like an 8.0lb (+ ) connector.

It used to be considered £5 by Glock but now they sell it as £5.5. It provides a decent drag when broken and mashed. They can be shot right out of the box or given a simple polish job. The Minus connector (left) is present on both 35/35 and 17L/24 guns and offers a 4.5lb (previously 3.5lb) towing weight according to Glock technology specifications. When used with other factory parts, it also provides a reliable trigger and is easy to fire.

The Dot connector (right) is a newly developed part that works best with the redesigned trigger blade on Gen4 pistols. Reportedly a middle ground between standard and minus connectors due to the increased weight carried by the slightly modified Gen4 trigger bar. When used in conjunction with the Gen3 trigger bars, they provide slightly lighter, sharper breaks with a positive reset.

The only aftermarket connector I've seen that works properly is the non-adjustable Ghost connector, though I've heard anecdotal reports of the Lone Wolf connector working fine. Of particular note, Scherer connectors should be avoided at all costs. If in doubt, look for a factory Glock connector.

Trigger spring is where the "give and take" of trigger pull is determined [singlepic id=4091 w=320 h=240 float=none] Trigger spring connects trigger rod to trigger housing via coiled "S" spring or plastic leaf spring with coil spring retainer (NY series). The interaction of these two springs is not exactly the same but the basic functions are similar, let's skip the engineering lesson.
